Katie Tutrone is a New York-based video creator, journalist, and climate educator.
She is a big fan of the sky and all things weather. She started out by using her broadcast meteorology studies to satirically predict yesterday’s weather. But she’s moved on to the climate, completing a masters in climate science and policy at Columbia Climate School, hoping to be something like a Bill Nye of climate.
She currently works as a producer at VICE News, where she develops, shoots, and hosts documentaries about environmental issues from invasive species to natural disasters. You can also find her as a weather correspondent on Miranda Cosgrove’s Mission Unstoppable on CBS, as well as raising awareness of weird animal stories on Tiktok for her 800,000 followers.
When she is not oggling over the atmosphere, she is beekeeping, citibiking, playing professional squash, or coaching a high school squash team.
